Panch Kedar

In Panch Kedar, all Temple are dedicated to Mighty Lord shiva and all Panch Kedar temple are the different body parts of Lord Shiva. When “Pandavas” went to the Himalayas after the war of Mahabharat, Lord Shiva avoided them to meet because they killed their cousin brothers “Kauravas”. When Lord Shiva turns into the form of Bull, the Bheem (One of the Pandavas) chased him, and between both of them was a huge collapse, then He left his hump at Kedarnath. But when he resurfaced, it seems that he had assumed human form and emerged at different areas in these mountains. His face resurfaced at Rudranath. His Arms resurfaced at Tungnath. His navel emerged at Madhyamaheshwar. His hair emerged at Kalpeshwar.

1- Kedarnath

Kedarnath is one of the Panch Kedar, One of the Chardham shrine, and one of the Jyotirlinga. Situated at Kedar Valley, Rudraprayag district, the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is one most sacred place as per Hindu religion and dedicated to Lord Shiva. To Reach Kedarnath you have to do an 18 Km trek and helicopter and mule services are also available. The winter seat of Shri Kedarnath is at Ukhimath Town.

2- Madhyamaheswar

Madhyamaheswar is the second Kedar and it denotes as naval part of Lord Shiva. To reach here you have to do a 16 Km Trek and mule service is also available here. It is situated at Ukhimath, Ransi & Gaundar village, District Rudraprayag, the state of Uttarakhand, India. The Winter seat of Madhyamaheswar temple is at Ukhimath Town.

3- Tungnath

Tungnath is the third Panch Kedar and the world highest Lord shiva Temple, it denotes as Lord shiva Arms. To reach here you have to do 04 Km Trek and mule service is also available here. It is situated at Ukhimath, Chopta, District of Rudraprayag, the state of Uttarakhand, India. The winter seat of Tungnath Temple is at Makku Village.

4- Rudranath

Rudranath is the Fourth Panch Kedar and denotes the Lord Shiva Face. It is located in Chamoli district, the state of Uttarakhand, India. To reach here you have to do a 22 Km Trek from Mandal.

5- Kalpeshwar

Kalpeswar is Fifth Panch Kedar and denotes as the hairs of Lord Shiva. Kalpeswar is the only Panch Kedar is open all around the year. It is located at Urgam Valley, District of Chamoli, the state of Uttarakhand, India. This is the only Panch Kedar where now you don’t need to do the trek.
